Jan 2016

Dear Member

It's that time of year again. Please find enclosed all the paperwork required to renew your membership for the 2016-2017 season. Please could you fully complete the renewal card, including your membership number (which is the same as last year). It also assists the sorting of the post if you return your renewal in the envelope supplied. Could you also make sure that your stamped addressed envelope is of the correct size (min 9"x4").
We will again be taking card payments this year. Payments of this nature will ONLY BE TAKEN AT WEEKENDS, not during the week as this interferes with the normal running of the Society. As a result of this the office will be open most weekends from 9.30am until 4pm. A small charge will be levied for this service to cover costs. Please see below or check the website for the weekend opening dates.

The committee would also like to make the membership aware of a rule change that affects the charitable donation the Society makes each year. It has been agreed at committee that the donation will be increased from £250 to £500.We will then ask members to nominate local charities. These nominations need to be sent in writing to the Honorary secretary no later than the 1st August. The list of nominations will be presented to the members at the AGM and will then be voted on. The two charities with the most votes will then receive £250 each. If only one charity is nominated then that charity will receive the full £500.
